LINEAR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS ON CENTRIFUGAL PUMP

Abstract


The  problem commonly encountered  in  a  centrifugal pump are excessive  heat, excessive  noise, leakage  and  damage  of  its  components . Major  reasons  for  the  failure  of  a  pump  are  excessive  stress,  reduction  in  strength  of  its  components, variation  in  load,  poor  design  and  what  is  the  material  used  in manufacturing of parts  of  the  pump. Failure of  a  component  affects  the  performance  of  a  pump,  causing  either  a  reduction  in  its  efficiency  or  its complete  breakdown  . The  major  objective  of   this  paper  is  the analysis  of  components  of  pump  by  FEA  through  ANSYS 14.0.
